A little pink too far

On my way home from work today, I was chatting to B on my phone when I spotted out the window a lady wearing possibly the pinkest pair of shoes I have ever seen! Unfortunately because I was using my phone I didn't manage to get a photo for you all, so you will have to trust me on this one...but they were roughly these shoes...

See!? They were even more noticeable because the lady was wearing all black. I'm still not quiet sure whether I love them or hate them really! I'm not one for pink much (I know its Barbies colour, but Twisted Barbie is more of a purple girl! - can you not tell??)

The amusing end to this however was that I told B on the phone when I spotted these shoes and the lady sitting in front of me on the bus whipped round laughing and told me she was thinking exactly the same thing!

Lesson for the day: However quietly you speak on the phone on the bus the person in front is probably listening!

Sums and Words People!

OK - totally unrelated to my reminiscence yesterday (but just happens to be about the same place!) - a friend posted a story on facebook about a charity event happening in Norwich. The link led to the local papers website - Evening News 24 - where I read with interest about a man running between the regions two rival football clubs for charity. Then I spotted something in the story that made me smile, read the following sentence yourself first to see if you can see a problem...

This year the Bryan Gunn Appeal is hoping to reach its £1m mark.

Since it was launched in 1993, it has raised around £9,970,000, but with the help of people in Norwich the charity is hoping to reach its magic million.

Got it?...No?... ask yourself how many 0's there are in a million and the recount how "close" they are to achieving £1m...

Bravo Evening news for highlighting the level of innumeracy in Norfolk! ;)

Just in case you fancy contributing to the charity - the story can be found here along with the donation information :)

Tribute to the Puppet Man

Don't panic! It's not because anything bad has happened! Its just a tribute for tributes sake because there are so many people out there who don't know of or understand the Puppet Man...

In short, If you've ever visited Norwich you may have come across Puppet Man. He's an elderly chap in his late 60s who busks in part of the busy shopping district with a ghettoblaster (my thats an old word!) and a selection of puppets. Sounds boring huh? Well if you've never seen it before treat your eyes below to the wonderful work of the Puppet Man!

He's built up somewhat of a cult following and has pages dedicated to him on facebook, and his own website click here if you want to read more

Well I hope you all feel educated now, you just have to get yourselves down to Norwich to witness this phenomenon for yourselves...

Enjoy! and don't forget to spread the word of the Puppet Man!

Oddest...Vote....Ever

On 5 March Passengers of Ryanair were asked to make an online vote for the strangest reason yet...An airline passenger ate his £8,930 winning scratch card after he was told he could not claim the money immediately.

Crew on board the flight confirmed he had won the prize but told the passenger he would have to collect the jackpot directly from the company that runs the competition as it was such a large sum.

Ryanair said the man then became frustrated and started to eat his winning ticket, ruling out any chance he had of claiming the prize money which will now be donated to charity.

A spokesman for the airline, said: "Passengers have always been delighted to claim their large cash prizes after returning home. Unfortunately our latest winner felt that we should have his 10,000 euros prize kicking around on the aircraft."

Maybe the poor chap wanted the cash to buy a sandwich?

Once seen never forgotten

Being bored a few nights back, I found myself browsing the archives of YouTube and stumbled across some themes from the shows I grew up with on TV.

I figured I'd share so, heres a selection of my favourites!

Mysterious Cities of Gold

Dogtanian and the Three Muskerhounds

Trap Door

He-Man

The Littlest Hobo

There were far too many to list, and my all time favourite isn't available to embed here so heres a link instead...

Fraggle Rock

Looking at these quality shows, its no wonder there are lots of slightly odd 30-somethings out there!
